Participants discussed the importance of CPD in maintaining professional competence, keeping practitioners updated with developments in their respective fields, and promoting quality and safe healthcare services. The engagement also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review the proposed CPD requirements, processes for earning CPD points, and the responsibilities of different stakeholders in supporting continuous professional development.
Stakeholders emphasized the need for clear, practical and accessible CPD processes that enable professionals to participate in relevant learning activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Review of Registration and Licensing Guidelines
The meeting also considered the Registration and Licensing Guidelines, which provide guidance on the processes and requirements for registration and licensing of Allied Health Professionals.
Discussions focused on improving the clarity, efficiency and transparency of registration and licensing processes. Stakeholders provided feedback on areas that could be strengthened to make the procedures easier for applicants and practicing professionals to understand and follow.
The engagement further highlighted the importance of effective collaboration between the Council, training institutions, professional associations, employers and other sector stakeholders in supporting regulatory compliance.
