AHPC Participates in the 2026 Cancer Run at Kololo

Kampala, Uganda | 30 August 2026

The Allied Health Professionals’ Council (AHPC) joined thousands of Ugandans and well-wishers at Kololo on 30 August 2026 for the Cancer Run 2026, in a united effort to raise awareness and support the fight against cancer in Uganda.

The participation brought together AHPC staff and allied health professionals who came together to show solidarity with cancer patients, survivors, families and communities affected by cancer.

The Cancer Run provided AHPC with an opportunity to contribute to a national cause while highlighting the important role of health professionals in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment support, rehabilitation and health education.

AHPC Promotes Health and Community Wellbeing

As the regulatory body for Allied Health Professionals in Uganda, AHPC recognizes that improving the health of the population goes beyond regulation. It requires active participation in initiatives that promote disease prevention, health awareness and access to quality healthcare services.

Through its participation in the Cancer Run, AHPC encouraged the public to take greater responsibility for their health by adopting healthy lifestyles, undertaking regular health checks and seeking professional medical attention when necessary.

Early detection remains an important part of the fight against cancer. Increased public awareness and timely access to appropriate healthcare services can contribute significantly to better health outcomes for individuals and communities.

United Against Cancer

The Cancer Run 2026 brought together people from different backgrounds under one common purpose — supporting efforts to prevent and fight cancer and standing with those whose lives have been affected by the disease.

For AHPC, participation in the event also demonstrated the Council’s commitment to social responsibility, teamwork and promoting a healthier Uganda.

The Council appreciates all AHPC staff, allied health professionals, partners and members of the public who participated in the Cancer Run and contributed to making the event meaningful and impactful.

AHPC remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote health, strengthen community awareness and contribute to improved quality of life for Ugandans.
